Just a swinging...

And then she had to take a break to pick some flowers...

Attention Leaf Peepers:

The leaves are changing, but the colors aren't very vibrant this year, at least not around here. Here is the view from my front porch, looking to the left. Click here to go to the official Maine leaf peeping website, where you can find out the status on the changing leaves.

Mr. Diesel is in the bottom, left corner of the picture. Years ago now, we bought & cemented into the ground the playground equipment you see in the background (there's more out of view of this picture). A local school built a new building and was getting brand new equipment, and sold us the old stuff. We put the fire pit in a couple years ago now.

It's Glam Time!

The other night, Paige invited Sophia into her room, and they had a hair and make-up party.

"Ta Da!"

Paige does her handy work on Sophia, while Sophia checks it all out in the mirror.

Nails...

Paige is such a good big sister!

Don't forget the toes...

& the lipstick...

Paige has a giant tool chest (don't ask, she traded something w/Noah to get it) to put all her make-up in. She has a whole drawer of just foundation! The girl is OBSESSED with make-up! She cleaned out the bottom drawer and put make-up just for Sophia in there. Sophia was so excited!

Sophia looked so cute, she wanted to try on shades. Don't you think she looks a little like Gilbert Gottfried here?

How about these black sunglasses?

Yup, the white shades, for sure. GLAMOUR GIRL!

My Working Boy, Noah

Quick - scroll to the bottom of this post and hit 'play', you've gotta hear the song!

Noah borrowed Grammie's 4-wheeler, and hooked his wagon to it.

He loads the cut grass; what a hard worker he is for a seven year old!

Of course, the incentive is that he gets to drive the 4-wheeler when the wagon is full...

Yup, he drives the 4-wheeler all by himself this year!
Here he is, heading through the playground to go dump his load. (Yes, Noah, I'm watching!)

Noah lifts up his wagon to dump the load by the edge of the woods.

Headed back for another load!

I Need a New Blog Title...

'Sophia's Journey Continues'... kinda lame, isn't it? I had to call it something when I started this blog in January. My old blog was created for friends & family to follow our journey to Sophia, so I named it www.journeytosophia.com. Well, this blog is about our whole family, and not just Sophia. Yeah, she's the youngest, and the one that is home all the time with me, so I happen to take more pictures of her right now, but it certainly isn't all about her. Won't you help me come up with a clever title, that fits our family?

So, please leave a comment and take a stab at naming my blog. Will there be a prize? Oh SURE there will!

Survivor China - Whacha Think?

I Tivo'd it, but haven't watched. DH was still working when it was on, and I want to watch it as a family.

I'll bet you watched it, though... what did you think? Sophia's from the JiangXi province, so I'm particularly excited. I'm not a big fan otherwise...

Let's Play Ball!

Paige played softball with Sophia yesterday. Notice the pups 'ballroom dancing' in the background!

Keep your eyes on the ball, Sophia!

Playing catch with Paige is fun!

I'm ready, Paige!

Oops!

Winding up to throw it back

Sophia's a Cubbie!

Sophia is a Cubbie in our church's AWANA program. Could she look more proud? Wondering why she's wearing her Mulan jammies at Cubbies? It was PAJAMA NIGHT! Sophia loves being a Cubbie. Here she is modeling her new Cubbie bag; her Cubbies book is inside. She will soon earn the official Cubbies vest, and will recite scripture to earn patches to go on it.

Here is Sophia with Miss Janie, working on her Cubbie Bear puppet.

Playing w/the new camera today

I'm thinking I'll be doing Paige's senior pics in a few years, and save some money! She's quite photogenic, and takes a good picture almost every time. As I look more closely at these pics (I'm my worst critic!) I see now that I have a shadow behind their heads. I guess I need to get the lights and filters that the pros use! I was just using the natural light coming from the window, and I didn't see the shadows before. I'm learning...

Now only if these two would get along this good for more than five minutes...

Do any of you use Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0? I'm wondering which filter to use to make my pics (top one) look more professional, like a blur filter? Any help would be appreciated!

Paige & Her 2nd Favorite Boy

I'm back...

Can you tell her Momma takes lots of pics of her? She's a poser!

and a nut!

The view from my mirror

Sophia pretends to talk on the cell-phone w/Daddy, while we wait for the bus. I guess she's listening here...

Shhhhhhh Mommy!

Got my new camera in the mail, late yesterday, just before it was time to get Paige at the end of the road, from the bus. So I played a little... Good pics to come! A week without a camera was so hard! Got a great deal on Ebay, brand new in the box. DH let me upgrade to the Canon XTI 10.1 mp. How many years until I wear this one out? I don't know, but it will be fun trying! :)
