Friday's DOUBLE HAPPINESS Photo Challenge was Gotcha Moment Outfit pics. Here is Sophia (Guang Fei Ling) being handed to me by the orphange director, September 11, 2005. Sophia is 11 months old. I've heard of many children being dressed in many layers, covered by a special outfit at Gotcha moment. Nothing special here, just a cotton, sleeveless onesie type outfit. Nothing under but a diaper, and only socks, no shoes. It makes me sad there was a blood stain on the socks (from a boo boo weeping?) but Sophia didn't have any boo boos. Needless to say we've washed the socks and the outfit, and put them away for her.
Paige (age 11 at the time) took this picture, it is one of my all time favorites. We were just leaving the Civil Affairs building, where we had received Sophia about 30 minutes prior. We were on the bus, headed back to the hotel. I wonder what was going through her mind? I was over the moon.
April 2007 - Sophia is 2 1/2 now. This last picture is a recent one that I like. I wasn't able to fit Sophia into the outfit from Gotcha Day, she has outgrown it.

I'm glad you had the courage to put the crying photo up. It is hard to admit the truth sometimes. But liberating. We are the sum of who and where we came from. That means we're constantly evolving. The last pic tells that fluid movement best. Your black and white photos make it all the more emotional.
thanks.

Oh, and get that Paige girl into modelling. America's next top model is always on the lookout.

She is such a cutie!!! Love the pics!
That second photo caused my tears to fall. Beautiful, and now special that your 11yr old daughter took it... just beautiful.
Sophia is such an adorable girl too.
What a beautiful baby and a beautiful blog. It seems that in blog land we all kind of hand tight with people on our same leg of the journey. We are at the beginning with a log of 2/6/07. It's great though to see people who have made it through and have their beautiful children.
she is just so precious.
Amazing photos! I just love the second one. So many thoughts in there. The third picture is adorable!
That first picture looks like Lily did on Gotcha Day -- unhappy!
However, Sophia seems to have recovered by the bus trip home...we were not as fortunate.
Beautiful photos, all of them, of an amazing little girl.
The picture of the two of you looking at eachother is priceless. She looks so sweet & curious.
