Can't I just take a 5 minute shower???

I'm the Mom of a toddler & two naughty pups. What does this mean? This means I take a FAST shower. FAST. Get wet, shampoo hair quickly. Wring out hair, and apply conditioner. While conditioner is setting for a minute or two (according to the bottle's instructions) I lather myself up with soap, and then rise hair and body - CLEAN. I'm in there 5 minutes tops. Who has time to shave legs?

So, yesterday was a usual day. The pups were sleeping on my bed, and I put on an episode of Little Bear for Sophia. "I'm going to take a quick shower," I told her. "Okay Mummy," she replied. She was focused on the show.

Here was my chance. Took quick shower as usual, and stepped out, wrapped smaller towel on head, bigger towel on body. Stepped out of the steamy room to check on the pups and kiddo. What I found wasn't a pretty sight.

Pups - no, one pup (the bigger, dumber one) had gotten one of DH's nice, leather, super comfy sandals, and chewed it up. Great. I look up at the television in the bedroom, and something doesn't look quite right. It's kind of messy.

Turns out Miss Sophie opened the bottle of LIQUID EYE MAKEUP that Paige had given her, click here. Paige was SURE Sophia couldn't open it, so there was no harm. Yeah, there was NO HARM all over the TV screen and the TV itself! But then I looked closer and it was all over her arms, too.

This all happened as we had just about enough time to get dressed and out the door for a dentist appointment...

I have fixed part of my shower problem. I put Kieren in the shower with me and suds her up. She plays in the water as I finish then I fill up the tub, get out, and let her play while I get dressed and do my hair (in the same bathroom). Problem is the doctor only wants her to bathe every 2 or 3 days (due to allergies to soaps and extremely dry skin). Today was a non-shower day. It sucked. The dog will never be the same.

Oh wow! I remember that. One time my son painted his lips with fingernail polish in the 30 seconds I was out of the room.
Hang in there!

Oh my gosh! I remember those toddler days!! Looking back, I can't even remember how I took showers - must've blocked that out. I know I didn't take them when Mike was home because I am a morning shower person!!

I am so laughing because I have been there. Wanna know something--the only way I can shave my legs is to make it a family affair. I bring the razor out while everyone watches mommy shave her legs--works for me :) Anyway, hope the mess was easy to clean up. Just stopped by to say hello.

I feel your pain. I have learned that if it is just the two of us here, she takes a shower with me. She gets into everything given the chance.
Sorry about DH's shoe.

Oh that is so my life. I think my kids are busy so I can get away and shower or whatever but then I realize things did not go so well during my time away. Sure enough, my lovely 7 year old often times has decided to make some sort of food item that invloves starting the grill or the stove. Or MIa has escaped from the room I have her trapped in while I shower. It is great fun!!

Umm NO! That would be my guess. I make Glenys take her showers with me and the dog stays in the room with us. Much less destruction I think.

Oh, I feel for ya! Same here. DH works every Saturday so I'm home alone with our daughter. Trying to get a shower and get dressed without fear that something might be destroyed is hard!
Once, we were doing foster care, during showers, our foster daughter manaaged to find a Sharpie marker and decorate the sofa, chair, walls, kitchen cabinets, etc with it. Also took a whole new bottle of foundation another time and poured it all over her, coffee table and carpet. Another time, opened a PINK bottle of nail polish and painted her hands, legs, feet, carpet...all right before church. We made it, but she wore socks to cover most of the damage!
Lord, let us survive the toddler years!

I have had a similar situation happen when I was in the shower once. When Mallory was younger, she decided to use her crayons to decorate the tv screen. Not a pretty site! HA.
Oh, about the OCC shoeboxes. The preschool teachers sent these home with the kids for us to fill up. I am not certain where they got them. They are pretty neat, huh?

Oh I get it .... I wish I could take a shower everyday. I have completely changed my ways ... quick showers, wash and wear it hair, little makeup and forget about nail polish.
