It's 5 PM and I'm tired.

See post below this one, to see why. 1st day of potty training. I need help. We have had one success (yeah Sophia!), and 8 pairs of wet underwear/pants. She sits on the potty a lot, for 5-10 minutes at a time willingly, but then will pull up her pants/underwear, walk away and within 3 minutes is wet.

We were out on the playground and she wet her pants. No problem. It's a cool 64 degrees, and we continued to play outside another 45 minutes or so. She's in wet pants, no complaints. I was going to take her right in to change her, but then I thought 'no... let's let her get a little uncomfortable, so she won't want to pee in them again'. She didn't care. I even asked her how her underwear felt (I asked her when they were dry, so she would appreciate how good cotton underwear felt compared to a diaper!) and she said good. Okay... so wet underwear isn't a problem for her.

It's as though she just doesn't know when the pee is going to come out. We just put her in another dry outfit, and she says she doesn't want to go on the potty. Oh great, at 5PM she's starting to refuse.

Let me summarize: She's willing to sit on the potty. She wants to be a big girl. She keeps trying, but with little success. It's like mentally she's ready, but physically she's not. Now she's refusing to even try.

So my question to all of you is this. Do I continue, or assume that PHYSICALLY she's not ready, and wait till she's 3 to try again?

Need ... words..... of...... wisdom.....

She'll get it soon! She's a smart girl. Potty training is hard work! I am glad we're all over that!

Is she just two or closer to three? I have heard (I'm no expert) that "they" know..... My girls will be two on the 16th and we have been working with them to sit on potty but only when mommy goes or at night time. They are usually fully clothed. So not real potty training yet as I don't think they really get it. I'm not going to force the issue--yet....Just my two cents worth.
