The text below was just posted online, from our local newspaper (not the picture, I found that one myself).
How ridiculous is this:
"SKOWHEGAN, Maine — Hold the drawn butter, please.
A national animal rights group says it is cruel and unusual to boil and eat Maine lobster and they want to draw attention to the suffering of Maine’s trademark crustacean.
So, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have an idea for the century-old Somerset County Jail — turn it into a “lobster empathy center”.
The county jail is up for sale, as the sheriff, staff and inmates prepare for a move to a new, modern facility in East Madison this summer.
“No building would be more appropriate than a jail to set up an interactive display about how these intriguing animals suffer when they are trapped off the coast of Maine and housed in filthy grocery-store tanks before they are boiled alive,” Lindsay Rajt, manager of PETA Vegan Campaigns writes in a June 2 letter to the Somerset County commissioners."

That has to be the cutest lobster I've ever seen. I can't wait to try the real deal from Maine! Sorry PETA!
Personally I don't like lobster but I do love squid : ) that is a really cute little lobster and so I do like that one LOL
Nothing surprises me these days anymore it seems!
Only in Maine!!!! Can you believe it?
PETA sucks, I'm sorry. Used to be involved with them in early college days. They are incredibly inflammatory and could do SO MUCH GOOD for this world if they'd get there hands in serious stuff that REALLY NEEDS ATTENTION.
Next they'll say it's cruel and unusual treatment to spray a roach with Rai.d
(I admit it has always bugged me that lobsters are boiled alive- but I don't think we need to campaign against it)...
wooooooowwwwwww i like the cute lobster but this time people have gone too far i mean lobster is my fave seafood (i hate shrimp though)
It is very sad when we elevate animals to the place of humans.
How about an Orphan Empathy Center to draw attention to the suffering of children!!
Off my soapbox now...:)

I think it is really quite sad that people could devote their lives to a lobster.... there is so much true suffering in the world...
