Sunday Night Update: This girl amazes me! She has had on the same pair of regular underwear (There's an elephant on her rump, if you'd like to know which pair!), since this morning! They're dry. She has gone potty so many times, all by herself. I'm not even asking her to go every 1/2 hour, she's just telling me, 'me go potty' and she does it by herself. She even dumps the little potty into the big one! She was out playing on the sandpile for awhile today, and a couple times came inside to tell me she had to pee. She did, and went back out to play. I know from potty training my 2 other kiddos that usually they get busy and miss the signal, or forget to go. This hasn't happened yet. I am so proud of my BIG GIRL!
Here's the potty Sophia's using. CLICK HERE to read more about it. It talks, it 'flushes', it spits out reward stickers. It's a snazzy potty! We've actually shut off the sound. It senses when she sits on it, and starts yapping and singing. I guess we didn't need quite all the bells & whistles!
Here's Sophia pointing at all the stickers she's earned today! She loves to put them on the poster herself. What a difference a 1/2 a day makes! As you can tell from my last post, I was concerned Sophia physically wasn't ready. I had run out of the thicker crotched cotton undies, and put her in a regular pair, and a pair of tights. All her pants were in the wash from this morning.
Just a few minutes after I posted that frustrated blog, she was standing beside me, and said, 'Me gotta pee'. She ran into the bathroom, and sat on the potty. I followed. I thought she had peed in her pants again, and her wet underwear was the cue she had to pee, a little too late. Much to my excitement and surprise, her underwear was dry, and she had gone on the potty. YAHOO! Could it be???
I had to run over to the church and then the grocery store, and left her w/Dad. I called in between errands, to see how she'd been doing. Ted informed me she went on the potty again! Still wearing the same, dry underwear! She told him 'me go potty', and he offered to help her. "no, me do it me-self' and she did! Yahoo! By the time I actually got home, she'd gone again.
It's 9pm, and it's about time for her to go to bed. Same pair of underwear, still dry. I will put on her 'nighttime underwear', and she's off to bed. And to think I almost bought diapers at the store tonight!!!!! I really need to learn patience...

YEAH!!! That's a big deal!!! Potty training is such a ton of work!!
Hi there! What a fab potty. Maybe I should find one of those for Eli. I'm glad that your little Sophia is doing so well with her potty training!
Way to go (literally!) Sophia!!
Bravo Sophia! You're a little big girl now!
I love the sticker idea. Now what does she get when she reaches 10? She looks so proud!
Becky
That's a cool potty. I want one for myself. How about an affirmation potty... "You are a good mom. It's OK to hide in the bathroom sometimes. You can do it, big girl" -- whattaya think?
Congratulations on the potty training success. Hope it continues well. Mom
Congrats Mom and Sophie! Way to hang in there. Haven't even started thinking about potty training...I know they are ready but I am definitely NOT. Just bought 2 packs of diapers yesterday! Share your tips with me please! I am so very afraid!
Go Sophia!! That is a pretty snazzy potty you've got there!
One question, WHAT do I have to do to earn a sticker?! I'M good. Just ask me... ha ha.
Way to go Sophia......
Rony
this is great!
(though i'm a little concerned about the toilet "spitting" rewards...glad they're just sticker rewards! just hope it doesn't learn how to "spit" other things back!)
WOW, sounds like she's for sure makign some prgress! Love your idea of the chart/stickers! :) Keep us posted on how she's doin!
A potty that spits out stickers after a tinkle? How big do they make the potty? FM would be highly entertained by this reward system.
Not that THAT man needs to take ANY more poops.
Our girls are quasi trained.
Way to go, Sophia!
What a big girl!
That is so awesome!! We are doing the potty training thing with JiaLi--just started last week---you are right--patience is the key:)
Way to go Sophia! Ahhh, those days are behind me but not for long, I hope!
