Playing w/the new camera today

I'm thinking I'll be doing Paige's senior pics in a few years, and save some money! She's quite photogenic, and takes a good picture almost every time. As I look more closely at these pics (I'm my worst critic!) I see now that I have a shadow behind their heads. I guess I need to get the lights and filters that the pros use! I was just using the natural light coming from the window, and I didn't see the shadows before. I'm learning...

Now only if these two would get along this good for more than five minutes...

Do any of you use Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0? I'm wondering which filter to use to make my pics (top one) look more professional, like a blur filter? Any help would be appreciated!

Shhhhhhh Mommy!

Got my new camera in the mail, late yesterday, just before it was time to get Paige at the end of the road, from the bus. So I played a little... Good pics to come! A week without a camera was so hard! Got a great deal on Ebay, brand new in the box. DH let me upgrade to the Canon XTI 10.1 mp. How many years until I wear this one out? I don't know, but it will be fun trying! :)

I lost my poor meatball...

I put Sophia to bed tonight as usual. She called me back in, after about 10 minutes.

"What sweetie?" I said.
"Where's my meatball?" Sophia asked.
"Your MEATBALL?"
"Yes, my MEATBALL."
I must be misunderstanding her, but it's as clear as a bell. Hmmm... We had Chinese food for dinner, and there were certainly no meatballs...
Then it hit me.
"You mean your COTTON BALL?" I asked. Paige had given her one a bit before bed, and I didn't realize she'd taken it to bed with her.
"Yes, my COTTON BALL."

Man, I love this kid. It's the little things that make me giggle.

Two years ago today, in Nanchang, China, Sophia was placed in our arms. Words cannot express how amazing this experience has been. We are thankful to God for calling us, and for guiding us to our girl. We couldn't love her more.
